COMEDIAN FELIPE ESPARZA TO PERFORM AT CHUMASH CASINO RESORT
SANTA YNEZ, CA – December 26, 2025 – Stand-up comedian and actor Felipe Esparza will bring his “At My Leisure” world tour to the Chumash Casino Resort’s Samala Showroom at 8 p.m. on Friday, January 23, 2026. Tickets for the show are $55, $65, $70, $75, and $80.
In the early 1990s, after overcoming substance abuse, Esparza found inspiration to pursue comedy and began performing stand-ups at open-mic nights and underground clubs at just 18 years old. Following over a decade of gaining experience and refining his skills, he earned mainstream recognition after becoming the first Latino to win a season of NBC’s television series Last Comic Standing (Season 7). Since this rise to prominence in 2010, Esparza has released several acclaimed comedy specials, including “They’re Not Gonna Laugh at You” (2012), “Translate This” (2017), and “Bad Decisions” (2020), which became the first stand-up special released as separate performances in English and Spanish.
Often reflecting on his immigrant upbringing, cultural identity, and personal struggles, Esparza’s relatable storytelling and ability to find humor in the everyday is what makes him a fan favorite. Beyond his career as a comedian, he appears in numerous films, such as “El Matador,” “The Deported,” “The Fix,” and “Blue Beetle,” as well as multiple television series including “The Eric Andre Show,” “Superstore,” and “Gentefied.” He launched and continues hosting the popular weekly podcast “What’s Up Fool,” and most recently he released his Netflix special, “Raging Fool,” in February 2025.
