SANTA YNEZ, CA – November 8, 2019 – A Santa Barbara woman won the “Lucky Trails” giveaway, a $150,000 package featuring a luxury Keystone Montana fifth wheel trailer and a Chevy Silverado 3500 HD dually truck, during the latest quarterly grand prize giveaway at the Chumash Casino Resort.

The winner, a guest known as Veronique E., said she had a feeling it was going to be her lucky night when she arrived for the 10 p.m. drawing on Oct. 27.

“We had just returned from a trip to Vegas earlier that day, but something was driving me to be there for the drawing that night,” Veronique said. “People always stumble on my first name, so when my husband heard the announcer try to say my name, he immediately threw his hands in the air and said, ‘That’s you! You won!’”

Winners have to be present to claim their prize, and they have just 10 minutes to reach the Chumash Casino Resort’s promotions desk to prove their attendance once their name is called.

“Everything was a blur,” Veronique said. “I just took off running for the counter because I didn’t want to miss it. I’ve been told by friends of mine at the casino that my name has been called for two car drawings in the past, but I wasn’t there.”

Veronique compiled entries for the drawing over the past three months by using his diamond tier players club card whenever she played the slots on the gaming floor. The prize package had been on display outside the entrance to the Chumash Casino Resort since early August.

“My husband and I like going to the casino because it’s just a great mini getaway,” Veronique said of the Chumash Casino Resort. “It’s nice for us to go there, hang out and just drift away. When I’m there, I’m not thinking about work or stress. I’m just in the moment.”

The Chumash Casino Resort features a car giveaway every week, but the next quarterly giveaway, called “Two Cadillacs and a Clunker,” will feature a luxury Escalade, a brand-new CT6 and an AMC Gremlin, which are together valued at over $150,000. The “Two Cadillacs and a Clunker” drawing will be held at 10 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 26. For more details, visit The CLUB at Chumash Casino Resort or log on to www.chumashcasino.com.

Located on Highway 246 in Santa Ynez, California, the Chumash Casino Resort is a 21-and-over facility that is owned and operated by the Santa Ynez Band of Chumash Indians. The casino’s gaming floor is open 24/7 and features 2,400 slot machines, nearly 50 table games, bingo, poker and weekly car giveaways.
