JEFFERSON STARSHIP BRING 50TH ANNIVERSARY TOUR TO CHUMASH CASINO RESORT
SANTA YNEZ, CA – October 8, 2025 – Jefferson Starship, the American rock band known for hits like “Jane,” “Miracles” and “Find Your Way Back,” bring their 50th Anniversary “Runaway Again” tour to the Chumash Casino Resort’s Samala Showroom at 8 p.m., Friday, Oct. 17, 2025. Tickets for the show are $29, $39, $49, $54 and $59.
Spanning five decades and multiple genres, the group initially emerged from the remnants of the legendary rock band Jefferson Airplane. Their debut album, “Dragon Fly,” set the stage for commercial success in the mid-1970s and peaked at No. 11 on the Billboard 200, featuring notable tracks such as “Ride the Tiger” and “Caroline.” The album also marked the official transition from Jefferson Airplane to Jefferson Starship, blending psychedelic roots with a more polished rock sound.
Formed in 1974, Jefferson Starship currently features founding member David Freiberg, along with Donny Baldwin, Chris Smith, Cathy Richardson and Jude Gold. Their second album, “Red Octopus,” was released in 1975 and reached No. 1 on the Billboard 200, before their 1976 album, “Spitfire,” and 1978 album, “Earth” both went platinum and introduced popular songs like “With Your Love” and “Count on Me.” Following a hard rock era in the early 1980’s, the group has been focused on the revival of the band’s legacy with new energy since the 1990’s.
The band has earned eight RIAA Gold Album Awards, two Platinum Album Awards, and one RIAA Multi-Platinum Album Award. They were nominated for a Grammy Award in 1989 for Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group Vocal with “We Built This City,” and in 1971 they were nominated for the Hugo Award with “Blows Against the Empire.”
