LOS ANGELES MAN TAKES HOME $225K BONUS SPIN BLACKJACK PROGRESSIVE JACKPOT AT CHUMASH CASINO RESORT

SANTA YNEZ, CA – February 15, 2023 – A Los Angeles man’s Valentine’s Day got a lot sweeter Tuesday night when he hit the Chumash Casino Resort’s Bonus Spin Blackjack progressive jackpot for $225,091.

Just before midnight, the winner, a guest known as Jan C., was playing on a special Bonus Spin Blackjack table and made a side wager to be eligible for a chance at the game’s progressive jackpot. He was dealt a Blackjack to activate the virtual Bonus Spin wheel, which landed on “Jackpot” to trigger the massive payday.

“At first my wife didn’t know what was going on,” Jan said. “When I told her what had just happened, she started jumping, screaming and shaking.”

The Bonus Spin Blackjack debuted in the Chumash Casino Resort table games pit in the spring of 2019. It offers a $5 side bet that rewards guests who are dealt a Blackjack (an ace with a 10 or face card) in their first two cards. The Blackjack winner then presses a button and watches a virtual wheel spin until it lands on one of 12 cash prizes, ranging from $40 to the progressive jackpot.

The resort has three of these special tables in its table games pit, and all are linked to the growing grand prize. The progressive jackpot had been building since it last hit on February 19, 2022, when a guest won a jackpot of $415,666.

As for Jan, the newest Bonus Spin Blackjack winner, he says he plans to use the money to pay off all of his debts.

“I’m so happy and glad that I won the jackpot, I wasn’t expecting that,” Jan said. “I thanked the dealer and I’m so thankful to the casino, of course. So happy for the opportunity to win a big jackpot.”

Jan, who hadn’t ventured up from Los Angeles to the Chumash Casino Resort in over a year, says he plans to visit more often.

“Thank you to everyone at Chumash, all the staff and people there,” Jan said. “I appreciate them.”

Located on Highway 246 in Santa Ynez, Calif., the Chumash Casino Resort is a 21-and-over facility that is owned and operated by the Santa Ynez Band of Chumash Indians. The casino’s gaming floor is open 24/7 and features 2,400 slot machines, 45 table games, bingo, poker and weekly car giveaways.
