OXNARD MAN WINS $168K WITH ROYAL FLUSH ON TABLE GAME AT CHUMASH CASINO RESORT
SANTA YNEZ, CA – DECEMBER 2, 2021 – An Oxnard man made a royal flush while playing Ultimate Texas Hold’em and betting on a special side wager on Wednesday, triggering the Chumash Casino Resort’s Multi-Progressive Table Games Jackpot and winning a prize of $168,187.13.
The winner, a guest known as Robert A., participated in the $1 side wager to qualify for the Multi-Progressive Jackpot, which is awarded when a player makes the side wager and achieves a royal flush on Ultimate Texas Hold’em, Three Card Poker, Four Card Poker or Mississippi Stud games offered in the Chumash Casino Resort’s table games pit.
Robert said it was around 2 a.m. when he sat down at the card game and was dealt an Ace and Queen of Diamonds. The dealer proceeded to unveil the community cards – a Jack, King and 10 of Diamonds – to give Robert the royal flush and a huge payday.
“I was calling everyone I knew – my family and my friends – but no one was picking up,” Robert said of his early morning windfall. “I wasn’t able to tell anyone until later in the morning when one buddy of mine finally answered the phone.”
Robert added: “I’ve been coming here since it was a tent. I love making the drive up here, with the view along the coast and the mountains. I also like the dealers. The people here are the difference. Even when you lose, you win because you’re still having a good time.”
When asked how he’ll spend his winnings, Robert said, “I’m an old-school Volkswagen guy, and I like fixing up old cars, so maybe something like that. But, I guess it will be whatever my daughter wants.”
