R&B AND SOUL GROUP THE O’JAYS TO PERFORM AT CHUMASH CASINO RESORT
SANTA YNEZ, CA – June 2, 2026 – Known for their major influence on 1970s soul music, the American R&B and soul group The O’Jays bring their electrifying live performance to the Chumash Casino Resort’s Samala Showroom at 8 p.m. on Friday, June 19. Featuring founding members Eddie Levert and Walter Williams, along with Eric Nolan Grant who joined in 1995, The O’Jays have been performing for over six decades. They were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 2005, as well as The Official R&B Music Hall of Fame in 2013. They were also honored with the BET Lifetime Achievement Award in 2009.
Formed in 1958, The O’Jays helped define the Philadelphia soul sound of the 1970s. As key artists on Philadelphia International Records, the group’s smooth vocals, funk-influenced rhythms, and socially conscious lyrics formed the soundtrack for the lives of several generations. Their success led them to achieve 10 Gold albums, nine Platinum albums and 10 No. 1 hits, including “Back Stabbers” (1972), “Give the People What They Want” (1975), and “Love Train” (1972), which became their signature No. 1 classic and a timeless anthem of unity.
