R&B FUNK BAND KOOL & THE GANG TO PERFORM AT CHUMASH CASINO RESORT
SANTA YNEZ, CA – February 13, 2026 – Known for hits like “Celebration,” “Get Down On It,” “Jungle Boogie,” and “Ladies’ Night,” the American R&B, soul and funk band Kool & the Gang will bring their authentic live performance to the Chumash Casino Resort’s Samala Showroom at 8 p.m. on Friday, March 6. Tickets for the show are $69, $89, $129, $139 and $169.
Formed in 1964, the group started as a jazz-influenced instrumental band that later evolved into one of the most successful and influential funk/R&B acts of all time. They introduced their self-titled debut album in 1969 and began building credibility on R&B charts and live venues. Their fourth studio album, “Wild and Peaceful,” was released in 1973 and marked their commercial breakthrough with Top 10 Hot 100 hits like “Jungle Boogie” and “Hollywood Swinging.”
A pivotal reinvention came with the launch of their new, more polished sound with the album, “Ladies’ Night” (1979). In 1980, the popular hit “Celebration” reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming one of the most recognizable songs in pop history.
Led by founding member Robert “Kool” Bell, Kool & the Gang is known for blending upbeat, feel-good lyrics with funk, soul, jazz, and disco grooves. They’ve won two Grammy Awards and seven American Music Awards, and they have produced 25 Top Ten Pop hits and 31 gold and platinum albums. They were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2024, the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 2007, and the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2015. In 2014, the group was also honored with a BET Soul Train Lifetime Achievement Award.
