SOFT ROCK DUO AIR SUPPLY TO PERFORM AT CHUMASH CASINO RESORT
SANTA YNEZ, CA – June 13, 2024 – Air Supply, the Australian soft rock duo, will bring their “The Lost in Love Experience Tour” to the Chumash Casino Resort’s Samala Showroom at 8 p.m. on Friday, July 12, 2024. Tickets for the show are $49, $59, $69, $74 and $79.
The accomplished duo, featuring Englishman Graham Russell and Australian Russell Hitchcock, have sold over 100 million albums worldwide, scored eight top-five hits on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 in the 1980s, and was inducted into the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) Hall of Fame in 2013.
During the height of their success, Air Supply was best known for their popular romantic ballads, including “Lost in Love,” “All out of Love,” and “The One That You Love,” and won an American Music Award for Favorite Pop/Rock Band/Duo/Group in 1982.
The group’s journey to fame began in 1975 when they met during rehearsals for the Australian production of “Jesus Christ Superstar” in Sydney. While touring with the musical, they signed a record deal with CBS Records and released their first single, “Love and Other Bruises,” which remains their highest-charting single in Australia. Following the production of “Jesus Christ Superstar,” they were invited to open for Rod Stewart in Australia and consequently Stewart’s North American tour in 1977. “Lost in Love” was released the following year and found its way to Clive Davis (founder and president of Arista Records) who immediately offered the group a record deal. The song became the fastest-selling in the world, topping charts in many countries.
The recording of “Making Love Out of Nothing at All” in 1983 solidified the group as a permanent force in modern music. Their first compilation album, “Greatest Hits,” was released in the same year and reached No. 1 in Australia, No. 2 in New Zealand, and No. 7 on the U.S. Billboard 200. With 17 studio albums, 13 compilation albums, four live albums and 27 singles released throughout their career, Air Supply’s music continues to resonate with fans worldwide, capturing the essence of timeless soft rock melodies.
