VENTURA COUNTY MAN HITS $137K JACKPOT ON FOUR-CARD POKER AT CHUMASH CASINO RESORT

SANTA YNEZ, CA – July 31, 2023 – A Ventura County man took home $137,921 after winning an unforgettable hand on a Four-Card Poker table and triggering a special jackpot on Wednesday, July 26 at the Chumash Casino Resort.

The guest, known as Don W. of Ventura County, was playing the poker novelty game when he achieved a rare royal flush while betting on a special $1 side wager to qualify for the Multi-Progressive Table Games Jackpot. He was seated next to his wife, who was also in the hand and won a $1,000 “envy bonus” for also placing a $1 side wager.

Don and his wife say the money will probably be divided up between their seven grandkids and eight great-grandkids.

Don, who said he has been coming to the Chumash Casino Resort with his wife “since it was just a tent,” added: “I opened the hand and did a double-take, and then turned to my wife and said, ‘Look what I’ve got!’ She asked me, ‘What does it pay, $2,000?’ I said, ‘No, look up there – $137,000!’ She about fell over.”

There have been several notable jackpots hit by Ventura County residents recently. On May 25, a Ventura County man, who preferred to remain anonymous, won a $556K jackpot on a slot machine, and then about a month later, that same man hit a Chumash Casino Resort record $1.3 million jackpot at the machine right next to it.

As for Don. W, this isn’t the first time he and his wife have hit a jackpot at the Chumash Casino Resort.

“When my wife won a $35,000 jackpot 10 years ago, it was a total shock,” Don said. “We left right away and installed new windows on our house. And now this. Great entertainment for us.”

The Chumash Casino Resort’s Multi-Progressive Jackpot is a table games pit promotion that awards a guest the growing jackpot when they make the special $1 side wager and hit a royal flush on Three-Card Poker, Four-Card Poker, Mississippi Stud or Ultimate Texas Hold’em. The table games pit also features a Bonus Spin Blackjack progressive jackpot, which is currently over $91,000, and a Face Up Pai Gow Poker progressive jackpot, which is over $177,000.

Located on Highway 246 in Santa Ynez, Calif., the Chumash Casino Resort is a 21-and-over facility that is owned and operated by the Santa Ynez Band of Chumash Indians. The casino’s gaming floor is open 24/7 and features over 2,300 slot machines, 45 table games, poker, bingo, and weekly car giveaways.
