BILLBOARD CHART-TOPPING DUO AIR SUPPLY TO PERFORM AT CHUMASH CASINO RESORT
SANTA YNEZ, CA – February 1, 2023 – Air Supply, the soft-rock duo of English singer-songwriter and guitarist Graham Russell and Australian lead vocalist Russell Hitchcock, bring their “The Lost in Love Experience” tour and catalog of smash hit love songs to the Samala Showroom at 8 p.m. on Friday, February 17 at the Chumash Casino Resort. Tickets for the show are $49, $59, $69, $74 and $79.
Russell and Hitchcock met in 1975 and formed Air Supply in Melbourne, Australia. The group, known for the trademark sound of Russell’s simple but majestic compositions and Hitchcock's soaring tenor voice, began playing in coffee shops, pizza parlors and anywhere they could hone their harmonies. After being rejected by all the major record labels, except for one, they signed with CBS Records. It wasn’t long before they began enjoying global success, including eight top-five Billboard Hot 100 hits, with “Lost in Love” (1979), “All Out of Love” (1980), “Every Woman in the World” (1980), “The One That You Love” (No. 1, 1981), “Here I Am” (1981), “Sweet Dreams” (1982), “Even the Nights Are Better” (1982) and “Making Love Out of Nothing At All” (1983).
Air Supply’s live performances have always been their calling card, holding audiences captive around the world. The duo was one of the first western groups to tour China, Taiwan and Southeast Asia, where they still have a strong following. For many years, some of these countries had banned pop music groups from crossing their borders before Air Supply toured there. The duo continues to tour the world, having also performed in England, Ireland, Israel, the Philippines, Korea, Japan, Canada and many more countries. To date, the group has released 17 studio albums, 13 compilation albums, four live albums and 27 singles.
In January 2020, the Australian newspaper, the Herald Sun, proclaimed Air Supply as a top 5 “Greatest Aussie Bands” of all time, in the same breath as AC/DC, The Bee Gees and INXS.
