CHUMASH GAS STATION GUEST WINS $1 MILLION WITH CALIFORNIA LOTTERY SCRATCHER

SANTA YNEZ, CA – August 11, 2022 – A lucky guest at a Chumash-owned property in Santa Ynez recently won $1 million without needing to step inside the Chumash Casino Resort.

A guest known as Jason B. purchased a 50X Fortune Scratcher for $10 at the Chumash Gas Station, located at 990 Edison St. in Santa Ynez, and won the game’s $1 million top prize.

The guest, who purchased the ticket on May 31, has no comment on the big win.

“We are thrilled for our lucky guest who purchased the winning scratcher at the Chumash Gas Station,” said John Elliott, CEO of the Santa Ynez Band of Chumash Indians. “We have a great partnership with the California Lottery, which has been a great source of supplemental funding for public schools throughout its history.”

The Chumash Gas Station has been adorned with “Millionaire Made Here” décor since the Santa Ynez Band of Chumash Indians learned in mid-July of a winning ticket being sold at its property. The California Lottery made the official announcement on Friday.

According to the California Lottery’s website, the odds of winning $1 million on the 50X Fortune Scratcher is one in 1,233,033, and 15 of the game’s 24 million-dollar prizes have been claimed.

The California Lottery notes that every dollar spent on Lottery games supports California’s public schools. To see how much money local schools have received from Lottery funds, visit https://www.calottery.com/who-benefits.
